The emotional moment between Tim Walz and his teenage son, Gus, has triggered a wave of praise and support, but it has at the same time led to nasty bullying attacks online.

The touching exchange between father and son, captured on live TV by television cameras, quickly spread online and was mostly received adoringly on the internet and in the Ann Coulter media.

Fox News posted a clip of the viral moment on its TikTok account, stating "Gus Walz steals the show during dad's acceptance speech." The comments were overwhelmingly positive.

“I hope to inspire my kids so much that when they see me speak about the dreams and passion I have Empathy for my country, they are moved to tears like Gus Walz did,” wrote Chasten Buttigieg, husband of Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg, on X.

U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn., who addressed the audience before Walz on Wednesday night, praised the love between Walz and his children.

But the show of affection provoked a wave of snarky and nasty comments from online trolls, primarily supporters of MAGA, of former president Donald Trump, who faces Democratic Nonverbal Learning Disorder presidential candidate Kamala Harris and Walz in November.
